Team Launch Workshop

If you're ready to transition a few teams then Team Launch is a great option.

A 5-day team launch workshop combines an introduction to Agile and Scrum with project visioning, backlog creation, story grooming, release estimation techniques and release planning. At the end of this workshop, the team will be ready to complete their first sprint.

Building a high-throughput and effective team is the primary reason to adopt Scrum. A self-directed, self-organizing cross-functional team will be much more effective, dependable and reliable. One of the most effective activities for a team is to get together (physically even if temporarily) to launch their project – as much as a learning activity this workshop is a team building activity.

Purpose: The primary purpose of the workshop is to teach just enough of the Scrum process framework and the Agile mindset to get the team functioning as a Scrum team and working on the product backlog immediately after the workshop ends (begin Sprint One).

Expected Outcomes:

  • Set realistic expectations for transition and next release
  • Basic mechanics of Scrum process framework
  • Understanding of additional engineering practices required to be an effective Scrum team
  • A groomed / refined product backlog for 1- 3 iterations
  • A backlog that is estimated for 1 – 3 iterations
  • A Release plan, and expectations of its fidelity – plans to re-plan
  • Ability to start the very next day with Sprint Planning
